My intention as an artist is to channel inspiration from life’s elemental forces and create images that spark a remembrance of one’s direct connection to the visible face of Spirit and initiate a transformational experience for the viewer.

Through my exploration of encaustic painting (Greek: enkaustikos; to heat or to burn), I have found that the raw ingredients are naturally soothing to the soul.

As the beeswax cools, the resulting texture can be deliciously sensual or dynamic and playful.  With the addition of the damar, or tree resin, which serves to preserve and solidify the medium, the piece is illuminated by reflecting light from within.  The aroma of the beeswax is both calming and revitalizing. It awakens personal memories of co-creation, raising bees and a lifestyle lived in harmony with nature.

I have also discovered, from my personal research in the practices of the ancient BeeMasters, there is not only historical, but also energetic information transmitted through the healing properties of the beeswax which is a direct experience of expanded awareness.
