Traditionally made from gourds, of the squash family, askutasguash, has the honor of being the seed carrier, Divine Mother, and the spark of life. She teaches us about boundaries with the essence of purity of new life.
Turtle is the most ancient of symbols for Mother Earth and the Aka field, sometimes known as the Golden Grid. She represents all we are blessed with and reminds us to slow down and simply be. Protection, clear boundaries and grounding are her gifts.
Bone + Horn enhances one’s strength, power, wisdom and dignity. They represent the cycle of death and rebirth, the masculine principles, earth and fire and the medicine of the shape-shifter.
Feathers + Turquoise has spanned all cultures and prized as a symbol of wisdom, nobility, and immortality. It was sacred in its adornments and was thought to bring power, leadership, luck, and protection to those who wore it.
Corn is the symbol of sustenance, the staff of life and is an important symbol of many tribes. Corn is considered a gift from the Great Spirit so its role is both as a food and a ceremonial object.
