I believe we are all artists creating life each day, step-by-step, moment-by-moment, adventure by adventure. The better we get at being more conscious about activating our creative potential, the more amazing life becomes.
What is really exciting about the adventuresome aspect life is that we don’t need to go any further than our own back yard! Sacred is in every present moment and by honing our skills of awareness and trusting our inner sense of knowing, the sound of a jet, a neighbor singing a tune, a billboard, the chirp of a bird, a penny on the sidewalk…anything can be a clue, a sacred symbol, a link or a message that gives us insight or an answer to a question we have been seeking.
Always fascinated by symbols, this year I decided to take a dive into deeper layers of the art of using Sacred Symbols by committing to a mentorship of learning the process of a divination practice known as Reading the Bones.The practice is based on the work of my mentor Gogo Gretchen Krilly McKay and an ancient African system that was passed on to her by her teacher, P.H. Mtshai, over the span of 15+ years of travel in Africa.

As I moved through my process of collecting individual objects for my set (see photo), I began to receive guidance about creating specific larger pieces that could be used as tools for transformational healing work. Slowly things came together quarter by quarter, season by season and manifested into 4 personal objects: Amulet, Rattle, Talking Stick and Medicine Bundle.
Each tool has a specific gift and symbolic meaning: Amulet:Returning the Integrity of Relationship with Self, Rattle:Prayer; Calling In A New Dream, Talking Stick:Telling Stories; Expressions of Power (photo below) and Medicine Bundle: Opening To Your Own Power.

A few weeks ago I was blessed to have my completion ceremony at the seaside in Laguna Beach, California with a symphony of waves, the wind and sea creatures!
